The latest rumours have surfaced around a new DJI Enterprise model that will debut in Q2 2020, sources believe this to be the new DJI Matrice 300 Enterprise edition model. The image above looks like a modified DJI Matrice 210 RTK that has been turned upside down. This upside down configuration has now allowed for more payload space, increased electronics, battery & optical navigational compartments space. The new design in theory would enhance the weight and balance of the craft aiding in a more well balanced flight characteristic when flying heavier underslung camera & inspection payloads.

In South African markets the DJI Matrice 200, M210 & M210 RTK v20 series drone models have operated extremely successfully. Due to the dry, dusty & vast mining environments, agricultural environments & constriction sites which form the backbone of their usage, the functionality of Matrice design has proven strong and dependable. The new DJI M300 is rumoured to make use of even bigger TB60 batteries which will allow for a flight time in the region of 50 minutes, the max all up weight has been increased to 9kg allowing payloads of up to 2.7 KG to be carried.

The new model looks to include the RTK antenna above the rear motors, this is due to a lack of space above the central core & potentially better accuracy away from the power & communication antenna interference. The new mock up payload pictured above is called the DJI H20. This is a beefed up XT2 thermal sensor with a revised gimbal mounting bracket, better heat conduction & an additional laser range finder. The addition of a zoom camera also seems to be included in this payload however this has not been confirmed.

We can expect this model to reach South African shores near the end of 2020. This is due to the current backlog of orders at DJI & the lengthening shipping times around the world due to COVID-19. Firmware updates should be expected for the new users of DJI M210 V2.0 units to accept the upcoming payload releases on the thermal, optical & combination sensor front.

In summary the DJI M300 is set to be an extremely capable & versatile model for the advanced enterprise customer, these platforms will not be easily affordable for the individual & thus the DJI M200 v2 is still going to be a class leader due to its exceptional capability, versatility & performance.
